Brenodi small caliber full automatic shotgun.

EDIT: I forgot to say that I saw a concept of a
Brenodi soldier holding a autoshotgun. It was
made by Vessboy, so I dont take credits for the
    general direction of the design.

Drum mags are impractical. They are bulky and jam a lot. Drum mags for shotgun shells are even more impractical. Shotgun shells often have a larger diameter deviance than bullets do. plus where do the shells eject from, and why do we even need a shotgun anyways?

Hamster, stop bitching about technicalities like jamming, those don't apply in Empires. The NFAR is assembeled in factories, but the parts come from junkyards. Go bitch about the fact that it isn't in a million pieces, kay?

What mayama posted. AA12 is very successful. You don't know a lot about guns because you airsoft. Get over it.

Lots of guns use drum mags, perhaps most notably the MG42 and modern MG36. The MG42 was, as far as I know, very reliable.

    MG42 is beltfed
MG36's cmag is only reliable with high grade ammunition

Weapons don't have to be mechanically sound in a videogame, so stop spamming this thread with irrelevancies and focus on the topic.

I personally love how it looks, but it looks more like a rifle or a machinegun than a shotgun IMO.

This would be awesome, if there was a need for a shotgun in the game

There is a need. The NF shotgun model is done. BE needs a counterpart.

I like it and we really need more BE shotgun concepts, I'll see if I can whip something up aswell.

Some of them really are good, but concepts mean nothing until we have something in 3D. So I want to see some proper models. Also Mayama, you'll probably need to learn animation seeing as there aren't any of those guys around.

I like this shotgun, but when we tried a shotgun ingame, it was a case of being useless on anything but district. You could make it longer range with less of a spread but then full auto could be severely overpowered. So I'm not sure about the feasibility of a useful full auto shotty that won't be either under or overpowered.

In IRC we were discussing alt-fire adjusting the choke (the spread of the pellets), would be great to have some dev words on that.

That's a perfect solution IMO. Works with the shotguns on Crysis also. But less pellets if you range it, that way there is a downfall for not using that constantly. Again, like Crysis.

Please someone be a chap and model this, mkay?

Could be nice for the rifleman as assault weapon, or for the scout.

Ooooh, choke control! That'd be sweet.
