    Alternative to RPG.
    Causes lots of heat to target vehicle, causing it to malfunction.

    Moar Liek slow-moving missile that tracks better the more heat a tank has.

    Grenadier heat missiles is...iffy.

    how about a research that decreases RPG turn radius by vehicle heat %?

    Considering that the RPG is only useful for turret sniping and pecking down failscouts, I wouldn't mind a heat missile.

    I was thinking that this would be useful for overheating, but not directly damaging heavier vehicles. Makes grenadiers useful lategame to some point.

    Heat is a lame way to fight, shadows idea is better. (wait did I really say that? fuck)

    If grens get plasma rpg, everyone will get bio engines.

    Heat is the lamest thing about tanks in this game.. As much as it would help the gren I am against it.

    Heat is something we all have to deal with though. Not only for the realism, but just to keep the tanks tanks and not...deitish.

    And come awn. Rockets!

    Shadow187: i don't really understand how you would solve that.
    Imagine the situation: you are a grenadier, and you see several tanks approaching. One of them is almost overheated. How does your RPG know that it is THAT tank that you are trying to manoeuvre your missile to hit, and not the other, and hence get a manoeuvrability bonus?

    My suggestion was: Hit tank, do damage, add heat to the tank.
    This will indeed the tank drivers to go bio, so this is in no way OP, but simply a clever tactic that has been discussed before.

    This could have the effect of overheating the enemy comm, making his engine stall, and killing him by other means. This way several grenadiers could actually start being useful.

    Also using these weapons will serve as something that can force the opposing team into using Bio, which can be a tactic in itself, by making them vulnerable to something else.

    That's EXACTLY what I want.
    Would solve our "gren is a useless class" problem.
    Would force heavies to be supported by something specced out against infantry.

    it is a good idea because of ^

    but make it a mortar selectable instead so the gren has to choose between buildings/infantry and being badass against tanks, plus the shorter range would help with balance.

    That could be based on the tank the RPG is currently pointed at. That doesn't fit with the RPG being the purely command guided missile it seems to be, though.

    Zenarion fast flying heat stickies would be incredibly lame. Heat is already not very fun and a bad system. And fetching a list of all tanks in an certain area, then targeting the one with the highest heat and targeting it shouldn't be too hard to code, so Shadows idea is indeed a lot better then yours imo.

    As much as it will make commanders get biology, it would screw over BE as they have to go out of their way to research bio just for the engine.

    NF has no problem researching bio because there is a weapon(and pretty useful imo) they can research for use with their tanks. The only way it could be safe to research this is to get plasma first, because no one gets plasma but I thinks plasma is useful as a support weapon, but then again, the tanks should just do the job.

    I'm for the Stinger Missile type rocket rather than the "plasma rawkit" because lets face it, you slowed down 1 tank for a few seconds, either the tank will just kill you when it isnt overheated anymore, or will just keep moving. If there are other tanks around, they'll kill you for their buddy who is temporarilly unable to kill you. Getting plasma would be a better alternative because you have vehicles which will stand a chance of imparting worthwhile heat and damage.

    Anyway, a heatseeker would be more useful because it would be fire and forget, allowing the grenadier to fire and move on quickly, rather than having to stay and pilot their missile, making them less likely to die.
