Maybe I'm overlooking it on the display, but as a comm, when I select a friendly tank it doesn't seem to show the class of the driver anywhere. That's a bit of a bother -- I often need to know if the tank who just blew up an enemy ref is being driven by an engineer or not, say. So the tank-driver's class should probably be displayed somewhere on the readout.
sometimes due to momentum of occasion a rifleman or scout driver is optimal for example if the original driver died, or if there is no time/chance to change class, or just because you dont plan on returning to base once damage becomes substantial
i just thought about something, being a scout vehicle driver you could drive up close, stickystun your enemy get back in and shell away doable?
Yepps. But in most tank combat you don't fight against a static target, but a moving thing that would drive over you at any chance it gets.
Also want this. Right now I look at the scores table when I want to know the class of the tank driver. Generally the player class should be always visible for commander. A small letter (E, S, R, G) would be enough. This will also help to find your own teammates without selecting them. And to complete this also the player name and current skills should be displayed when shift is pressed. So commander can send the engi with repair upgrade to refinery and not the one with revive.
This works well on an inattentive comm By the time they realize they're under attack, they're already overheated.
It would also be nice if when in a vehicle it would show what upgrades the driver has. Just the little skill symbol next to the health.
I scout tank simply for speed. It's very useful for early NF light tanks when you don't have an engine yet.
Here's something you can try: Go scout with radar stealth + sticky stun. Get APC and load it up with grenadiers. Sneak into enemy base, jump out and stun the comm. Grenadiers keep hitting enemy comm before he knows what happens. Win? Usually comms aren't looking in their own base, so if you don't show up in the minimap, they won't find you until too late. Or another a scout can do as a vehicle driver: 1) get radar stealth 2) drive around sabotaging buildings. Or another thing: 1) get radar stealth 2) get a jeep and load up with scouts with hide 3) drive into enemy base, let all the scouts jump out and sabotage the entire base 4) drive away and repeat. I like doing things for the lulz as you can see...
Is there any skill the comm is likely to really care about aside from Repair Upgrade? Perhaps we could just mark engineers that have that, without having distracting and space-eating four-symbol-long strings after every name.
I was saying more if you're just a passenger. How many rushes have failed because no one knew the driver didn't have defusal?
I see that more as a failing of defusal than a failing of the display. One skill shouldn't be so powerful that it makes the difference between instant death for an entire full APC and a victorious rush that wins the game.
