I've never had this issue untill like a week ago.. It was in Mitties I think so maybe its a server problem? It shows that hes muted for me yet I can still hear him
Well it works sometimes, i can't really explain how it behaves though. I never took the time to take a look at it, i might just be confusing that icon that appears when double clicking with something else. Maybe i'll go have a look now ... perfect excuse not to work on my project
Does the mute function work by stopping the voice from making noise from that point onwards or from the next time he uses his mic and onwards? If it's the latter, then those annoying spammers will sit there for like 2 hours with the mic button held down, and it wouldn't mute. Try joining spec then rejoining or simply rejoining the team. I've only had this problem once when the guy held his mic down for several minutes playing a sound file.
Mute works for me. Sometimes it will jump from nonmute to mute back to nonmute, but that's because I get tempted to click it again thinking the first try didn't go through.
i've had this problem aswell. It was during a game in which my entire team was spamming the mic so i tried to mute all of them. It only worked for about 75 percent of the ppl and no matter what i did it wouldn't mute the others.
i just played a game where one guy played loud metal at very bad quality over the mic and we couldnt mute him because it simply didnt work. that was fuckin annoying.
Is there a way to add a mute to text? Cuz we had this guy named ''5 minutes to die'' on a server this day, spamming it for hours..
I too am experiencing the same problem regardless of all the speculation here on what might solve it. I will try muting through playerlist now, which I hope works. However, I hope this bug is fixed. If its a problem with the button itself, maybe a mute steam console variable that accepts a steam ID and/or string name and mutes the incoming stream? I think that would be most reliable
I'd say the problem is with the people you are muting on the Mittoes server. That place should have a freaking cap on the amount of time someone can use mic. Actually, I hate to diverge, but: Can the server actually control how long someone can transmit for? (So as to prevent mic spam in Empires)
Not as far as i know, you'd need to use a plugin that can cut the transmission after a certain amount of time, and you'll need to auto-mute a person that had their transmission cut for a certain amount of time to prevent them from just repressing the button.
Same happened for me too. And I think I did this in the quite start of a match. I think it didn't work because of that. Could it be so that when players have spawned for the first time on a map cause some sort of malfunction which prevents muting not to work 100% right in the beginning of a match?
argh, this bug is annoying. it sucks when u cant mute mic spammers. i hope it will be fixed with the next patch. btw, is there a list of (confirmed) bugs or something?
