Mod of the Year Awards

Did I mention how disappointed I was that Forgotten Hope 2 released? That's pretty much the only competition I see for Empires on there, and it's mainly just about new graphics and changing all the weapons and vehicles to act like WW2 ones. I'm not happy.

 

OMG! thats a lot of guns,vehicles,planes and BOATs and stuff :eek:. Even so they still wont to get more good modellers/texture guys and so on .

 

Forgotten Hope for bf1942 was an incredible mod that changed the way people played the game. It had incredible realism coupled with excellent maps. I played a little of this new one and i have to say i was a bit disappointed. The same concepts are there, but they just didn't seem as well executed. The maps look pretty, but i have yet to find one i like as much as the bf1942 ones. I especially miss the Omaha beach map, which is probably the most epic WWII map i've ever played on.

 

I'm not gonna lie. The games looks like total shit. If I wanted to play a ww2 game I would buy one with good graphics/animations and more intelligent AI.

I recommend people vote for empires and then the anything in unreal tournament 3, but I'd have to ask KT how to best split the vote in favor of empires.

 

I can't see empires in the Half life 2 section. Any Ideas?

the first good idea is that all official servers should have their names changed from:

"Official #3" to "IF YOU LIKE EMPIRES, VOTE FOR US ON MOD-DB! Official #3"

or whatever the name is.



the second good point is:

We NEED to do a winter media update, wishing everyone a merry christmas, saying how the opening of the mod has gone and most importantly announcing that the empires league has started and that territories have changed. this can go on moddb. free advertising!

 

And announcing the return of badlands. :D

I agree. You are lucky that its pretty boring though. Look at this player graph of the most popular Australian server:

The maps were too big, and the weapons and tanks were boring. There weren't even any panzerfausts!

 

I'm worried the 16x maps are gunna be too big too, but having aircraft is going to be absolutely amazing.

 

At that scale probably each reinfery is going to grow into a full base...

 

You're certainly not going to want to be stuck walking anywhere
